Sunday Brunch at the WaterhouseSummertime and music are synonymous! Even better, is enjoying brunch in the lovely dining room of Waterhouse Restaurant or weather permitting, on the riverside outdoor patio and being serenaded.

“The artistry of food goes well with the art of music” says Corey Schoenig, chef of Waterhouse. “Taste the local summer flavors on our summer Brunch Menu. We work with local farmers to create with fresh eggs, meats, cheese and produce. Nothing tastes as sweet as a fresh tomato or as crispy as a just picked cucumber which you will enjoy in the Local Greens Salad. Bill, our Pastry Chef compliments his desserts and house-made gelatos and sorbets with fresh handpicked fruit and berries. From a culinary standpoint, this is my favorite time of the year!”

Begin Brunch with a sparkling Mimosa, or Champagne Cocktail followed with a choice of a seasonal delicacy or a classic favorite, including Eggs Benedict, Caesar Salad or a choice of Panini. Listen to the perfect pairing of light Jazz or acoustical guitar, or fiddle music just to name a few. “Look ahead to the line up of musicians and mark your calendars early.” suggests Keith Herrick, General Manager. “Make your reservations early and book your window table or on the patio next to the Nubanuset River. The Monadnock Region has a wealth of talented artists and we are delighted to collaborate and bring some of them for our guests enjoyment. The month of July, features the following Sunday Brunch artists:

July 14th——The New Grey Cats featuring Carey Bluhm on violin, Max Nunnemker on sax and Gordon Peery on keyboard. The group performs jazz standards to creative improv.
The “Cats” enjoy strolling through the jazz standards, creatively exploring improvisational tangents while not straying too far off the path. Along the way they through in the occasional jazz- ‐flavored rendering of a contra dance tune. Featuring Carey Bluhm, violin; Max Nunnemker on sax; and Gordon Peery on keyboard, the New Grey Cats are an increasingly common sight at events and social functions throughout the Monadnock Region.

July 21st——Dagny and Nina Hedberg, lively acoustic sister duo, perform contemporary and traditional fiddle ranging from Irish, Scottish to American.
Dagny Hedberg, 19, and her sister, Nina Hedberg, 18, form a lively acoustic duet featuring contemporary and traditional fiddle music ranging from Irish and Scottish to American. perform independently and are a part of a local fiddle orchestra. Dagny has studied classical violin since age 8, and has played with the Nashua Chamber Orchestra. Nina is a self taught guitar player. . They enjoy performing together and sharing their music at various community events.

July 28th——Scott Mullet on sax, will perform diverse music from such great artists such as Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Lou Rawls and many more.
Scott Mullett has played and toured with some of the best big bands in the world. After attending Berklee School of Music, Mullett toured with Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, and Mel Torme, and joined the national tours of Cats and 42nd Street. He has performed with Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, Lou Rawls, Ben Vereen, Cab Calloway, and many other notable performers.

Mullett has been a working musician ever since, and is now a first- ‐call saxophone player for the greater Boston area, doing commercial studio sessions, and performing regularly with the White Heat Swing Orchestra and the C- ‐Jammers. He has taught saxophone clinics at Berklee.

After serving as Musical Director for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in the 90’s, he came back to the Monadnock Region and continues to play jazz and teach in the Boston area as well as the Keene area. While playing at some of the larger concert venues here, he enjoys bringing in his jazz colleagues to play in more intimate venues.
