ANNOUNCING FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC SUMMERTIME SERIES IN DEPOT PARK, PETERBOROUGH, NH
Imagine a hot summer night, with a cool breeze, by the river, sitting on the lawn and listening to music! Starting Friday, July 11th and every Friday night through August 22rd, Twelve Pine Cafe, Depot Square and Bowerbird and friends are sponsoring an old fashion New England tradition of MUSIC IN DEPOT PARK. Bring your blanket, bring your lawn chair bring your family and friends to enjoy a variety of artists from the Monadnock Region and beyond. This is a relaxing way to end the work week and a perfect beginning for the weekend.
Here is a list of the musicians that will perform beginning at 6pm to 7:30pm each Friday night.
August 2nd: A CELTIC SESSION features traditional music of Ireland, Cape Breton, Scotland and Appalachia.
August 9th: THE PAUL KLEMPERER NH ENSEMBLE features Paul Klemperer from Austin Texas will be teaming up with local musicians for high energy blues and jazz.
Paul Klemperer is a prominent musician and teacher in the Austin, TX music scene. He discovered jazz at an early age, sneaking into smoky clubs by age 13. He studied with jazz legends Archie Shepp, Max Roach and Ray Copeland before moving to Austin in 1982 where he worked with such blues greats as Marcia Ball and members of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. With family ties to the Monadnock region, Paul is up here for just a couple of weeks this summer, and is teaming up with local musicians for what will be a fairly spontaneous and high energy blues and jazz jam. Joined by Gordon Peery on keyboard, Spencer Peery on guitar, Max Nunnemaker on bass, and [TBD] on percussion, this concert will surely rock the park.
August 16th: EDDY TROXLER extraordinary New England guitarist will be joined by local favorite talent for some Hot Jazz.
Eddy Troxler has been playing music and leading bands in New England for over twenty years. Most recently he has also become the owner of the Peterborough Music Company. An extraordinary guitarist, Eddy will surround himself with some of his favorite talent for some hot jazz
August 23rd: TAD DREIS energetic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who loosely categorizes his music as folk-pop.
Tad Dreis is an energetic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who loosely categorizes his music as folk-pop: catchy stuff with smart lyrics, heart, and a sense of humor. He launched his career in Chapel Hill, NC and then spent six years touring nationally before settling in the Monadnock region. He’s released 4 CD’s of original music, and is often heard adding flavor to local jam sessions, as well as solo performances throughout central New England. He’s also a dedicated music teacher, working with private students of all ages on guitar, ukulele, and harmonica.
July 12th: THE NEW GREY CATS, featuring Carey Bluhm, on violin, Max Nunnemaker on sax, Gordon Peery on keyboard. A mix of Jazz standards and Jazz infused contra dance tunes.
July 19th: THE SCOTT MULLET GROUP, featuring Scott Mullet on sax with his musical friends. Music performed jazz to big band to swing.
July 26th: HUNT AND ALLISON are traditional New England musicians and will perform an array of contra dance tunes and motley music past and present.
So, kick up your heals, dance with your favorite partner or simply enjoy listening. These concerts will undoubtedly be the summertime memories. In case of rain, the concerts will go on. The rain location will be the Cafe part of Twelve Pine and the patio under the tent. The tent for rain nights will be provided and sponsored by Monadnock Tent and Rentals.
