New Exhibit at the New England Art Exchange
A fine art gallery dealing in late 19th and early 20th century paintings and fine prints is hosting the exhibit ‘Architecture and Industry: A Collection of Etchings and Lithographs by Joseph Pennell’. The images selected for this show, dating from 1880-1920s, are mainly of New York, the United Kingdom and Europe, and portray scenes ranging from ancient Greek architecture in “The Temple of Jupiter, Evening” to the cranes and scaffolding erecting New York skyscrapers in “Caissons on Vesey Street” and “Standard Oil Building”, to the quiet atmospheric city scene of “Sunset From Williamsburg Bridge”.
